What is Hydrotherapy?
  • Canine hydrotherapy is a form of exercise which uses water to assist in the treatment of chronic conditions such as dysplasia, it will help your dog with his post-operative recovery, as well as aiding in pre-operative or general fitness in your dog. See below for a list of other common conditions the hydro can help with.

What can Hydrotherapy do for your dog?
  • The buoyancy created by the water can alleviate 65% of the animal's weight, which reduces stress put on bones and joints.
  • Luke warm water relaxes the muscles of your animal while he exercies in the hydro.
  • With consistent use the hydro allows your animal to build muscle mass safely without damaging their joints.
  • Muscles that were previously affected by surgery or injury can now be rehabilitated with minimal risk of further damage
  • There are many common conditions that can benefit from regular use of our hyrdo, including:
      • Pre and post operative conditioning
      • Arthritis – reduced pain and increased mobility
      • Hip and elbow dysplasia – especially useful for young dogs who are restricted to lead exercise
      • CDRM – chronic degenerative radiculomyelopathy
      • Spinal injuries
      • Recovering from injuries – including fracture, soft tissue and neurological damage
